Medical physics and biomedical engineering research at the Advanced X-ray Tomographic Imaging (AXTI, homophone of actie, meaning action in Dutch) lab focuses on novel image acquisition, processing and analysis techniques, physical and perceptual evaluation of image quality, radiation dosimetry, tomographic image reconstruction, and advanced computational simulation methods in diagnostic x-ray based imaging, especially for breast and body tomographic imaging. The aim of the AXTI lab is to perform state-of-the-art, clinically relevant research by working side by side with clinicians from the Department of Medical Imaging at Radboudumc and collaborating with commercial partners, medical physicists, and scientists from around the world.

Clinical Trial Center Utrecht
The Clinical Trial Center is part of the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Neuroscience of the University Medical Center Utrecht in the Netherlands. Our aim is to run successful research projects which result in improvements of patient care, more understanding of the biological basis of psychiatric disorders, but preferably a combination of both: in our most substantial undertaking so far, a treatment algorithm for patients suffering from first episode psychosis was tested, next to building prediction models for remission based on extensive demographic and clinical data combined with biological markers. The Clinical Trial Center has successfully managed clinical trials and non-intervention studies in the field of psychiatry, specializing in (early in disease) psychosis. Our projects are conducted within a unique international network of scientific experts located in psychiatric specialty clinics and academic centers across Europe and Israel. Funding for our studies is provided by the European Commission, international charity funds and unrestricted grants from pharmaceutical companies. The Clinical Trial Center has good track records regarding patient recruitment and meeting study timelines. For most projects we run, the Clinical Trial Center takes on all clinical trial management responsibilities: from writing the protocol and Standard Operation Procedures, designing randomization modules and the eCRF, centralised and on-site monitoring, safety reporting up until writing publications in international peer-reviewed journals.

De doelstelling van Com in Beeld is het vergroten van de zelfregie en maatschappelijke participatie van mensen met een communicatieve beperking, ten gevolge van een verstandelijke en/of lichamelijke beperking, psychische en/of gedragsproblemen en/of chronische ziekte. De stichting tracht haar doel onder meer te verwezenlijken door het doen van onderzoek naar, en het ontwikkelen en toepassen van audiovisuele communicatie technieken en methodieken binnen methodes/projecten/trajecten/onderzoeken die de communicatieve mogelijkheden en de zichtbaarheid van deze doelgroepen vergroten in onder meer de thuissituatie, zorg, onderwijs en maatschappij. The foundation tries to increase self-empowerment and social participation of people with Complex Communication Needs, by conducting research, develop methods and organise projects in the field of Augmentative & Alternative Communication with a focus on audio-visual communication technologies.

Cultus Crop Research
Cultus Crop Research heeft ruime ervaring in het uitvoeren van onderzoeken met gewasbeschermingsmiddelen, meststoffen en biostimulanten in diverse teelten binnen de land- en tuinbouw. Sinds 2010 is Cultus in het bezit van het GEP-certificaat. Met dit certificaat kunnen we fabrikanten van producten van dienst zijn met deugdelijkheidsonderzoek: resultaten dragen bij aan het toelatingsdossier van het gewasbeschermingsmiddel. In eerste instantie was dit alleen voor de boomkwekerijsector. Door de samenwerking vanaf 2013 met Giesen Crop Research en Centrale Adviesdienst voor de Fruitteelt (CAF) werden de sectoren uitgebreid met akkerbouw en fruit. Vanaf 2016 kunnen we onder het GEP-certificaat onderzoek doen in alle sectoren binnen de land- en tuinbouw, uitgezonderd de champignonteelt. Een eigen proeflocatie is gesitueerd in Melderslo. Daar kunnen we de onderzoeken onder glas, op containerveld of in de vollegrond uitvoeren. Voor een groot deel van onze opdrachten gaan we ook op zoek naar de beste percelen in de praktijk. Voor de voorbereiding en verwerking van alle data maken we gebruik van ARM. Curatorial Research Collective
We research architecture exhibitions, and make them too. The Curatorial Research Collective (CRC) curates and realizes architectural exhibitions. By doing so it does not only investigate alternative modes of architecture scholarship, but also develops a better understanding of the power of architectural ideas and how these can be communicated to a broader audience. The CRC researches how architecture exhibitions have become ideal venues for future architects to develop their own critical perspectives and foster a broader understanding of architecture, its conditions, and its effects. In that way we are connecting design practice and discourse through exhibitions and thus fostering a thoughtful, yet accessible, architectural conscience. The CRC has created exhibitions, organized public programs, and conducted research projects that have been presented, among others, at Het Nieuwe Instituut, the Dutch Design Week, and TU/e.

PUBLIEKE WINST ZONDER OMHAAL IPW realiseert uiteenlopende publieke opgaven. Met behulp van actieonderzoek en interventies lost IPW acute problemen op en gaat ze op zoek naar de aansluiting van leefwereld en systeemwereld. IPW leidt projecten en onderzoeken, bedenkt en test nieuwe oplossingen en voert die uit. IPW onderzoekt en verbetert o.a. voor overheid, zorg, welzijn, woningcorporaties en bedrijfsleven. IPW vernieuwt en verandert de publieke zaak vanuit de overtuiging dat een betere en goedkopere publieke zaak alleen tot stand komt als je regelrecht aanstuurt op wat je wilt bereiken: publieke oplossingen voor de verzorgingsstaat van de toekomst. Efficiency, kwaliteit en keuzevrijheid zijn daarvoor belangrijke voorwaarden. Regels (in plaats van mandaat), kosten-batenanalyses (in plaats van waardecreatie), zelfredzaamheid (in plaats van steun) en concurrentie (in plaats van samenwerking) staan centraal in het publieke domein van vandaag. Ze zijn doel geworden in plaats van middel. Dat leidt tot perverse prikkels en onverwachte effecten. En belangrijker: tot publieke oplossingen die niet meer begrepen worden door burgers. Eerder realiseerde IPW tal van verrassende oplossingen: een daklozenopvang, een werkbedrijf voor de onderkant van de arbeidsmarkt, IPW scheen nieuw licht op de financiering van hulp aan multiprobleem-gezinnen en IPW bouwde aan wijken waar al twintig jaar geen professional durfde te komen.

IRIS Projects, staat voor Innovation | Research | Intelligence | Safety IRIS Projects is opgezet door Jeremy Veenema, als Hoger Veiligheidskundige en Asbest expert, voert IRIS Projects projectmatig projecten uit. Stichting Zilte Zones
Stichting Zilte Zones is een onafhankelijke stichting die zich inzet om de bedreigingen van de Waddenregio door klimaatverandering, bodemdaling en verzilting om te zetten in kansen. Stichting Zilte Zones brengt kennis en ervaring op het gebied van de mariene aquacultuur samen en begeleidt en faciliteert projecten in de polder. Daarnaast houdt de stichting zich actief bezig met voorlichting, advisering en ontwikkeling van mariene aquacultuur in Noord-Nederland. De proeflocatie kwam tot stand dankzij de samenwerking met o.a. de provincies Noord-Holland en Groningen en met ondersteuning van het Waddenfonds.
