Our Principal Investigator, Jeffrey D. Wayne, MD is a board-certified internist with clinical practice experience beginning in 1991. Dr. Wayne has served as a PI since 1992 overseeing more than 260 phase 2, 3 and 4 studies. Dr. Wayne provides comprehensive Physician PI oversight including creation of internal source documents, frequent daily meetings with Study and Recruitment teams, and new study startup. Since 2010, Dr. Wayne no longer maintains a practice and is 100% research focused. Dr. Wayne continues to serve as supervising Physician for an adjoining family practice which is managed by Joseph Hobbs, PA who serves as a Sub-Investigator for CTR. The CTR team includes 3 Sub-Investigators, 1 Clinical Manager, 6 Study Coordinators, a 3-member dedicated Recruitment team and support staff. All members of the CTR team are GCP certified. Internal operations follow established and regularly updated SOPs. CTR has conducted studies within a broad range of therapeutic areas including Cardiology (plus long-term outcome/endpoint trials), Endocrine+Metabolics, Pulmonary+Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Nephrology+Urology, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Musculoskeletal, Psychiatry+Psychology and Devices. Health Care Engineering Systems Center At Illinois
The Health Care Engineering Systems Center (HCESC) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign provides clinical immersion and fosters collaboration between engineers and physicians. The goal is to use our expertise in the broad areas of simulation technologies, smart health systems, data analytics, human factors, and medical robotics to design and develop collaborative solutions that improve health care outcomes. HCESC was established in 2014 as a research center housed under the Coordinated Science Laboratory in The Grainger College of Engineering. One of the most important activities of our center is managing the Jump Applied Research in Community Health through Engineering and Simulation (ARCHES) endowment, which was established in 2014 by a $62.5 million gift. Jump ARCHES is a partnership between Jump Simulation and Education Center at OSF HealthCare in Peoria and HCESC. The endowment provides direct access and competitive grants for engineers and clinicians of every discipline to work together and solve problems in the world of healthcare. These competitive grants are available to employees of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria, and OSF HealthCare Systems. JEM Research Institute was founded by Drs James Goldenberg, Eric Kramer and Mark Goldstein to aid in the quest to discover promising new treatments for a variety of diseases through the implementation and management of clinical trials. These board certified physicians supervise every aspect of the clinical trial, from trial selection to matching appropriate subjects and caring for them, to managing the accurate acquisition of the data. We pride ourselves on adhering to the highest industry standards for Good Clinical Practice and CME training. Our physicians are Certified Principal Investigators as well as Fellows of the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research. All sub-investigators are fully trained in GCP and our coordinators are certified as well. Our facility is a 4400 square foot dedicated research space, designed with our physicians, subjects, and monitors in mind. We have two infusion rooms, three isolated monitor areas with WiFi access, and a large conference room to accommodate Site Selection and Site Initiation Visits.
