A world made happier by pizza! PizzaExpress was launched in 1965 by Peter Boizot. Peter visited Italy and fell in love with the pizzas there, when he returned to the UK he failed to find anything of the same quality. Not to be stopped by this Peter decided to do it himself and found the very first PizzaExpress site in London's Wardour Street. Nothing stopped Peter - his Italian oven was too big for the door so he knocked down the wall. Oven in. Oven on. And so it began. 50 years on we have over 600 restaurants in 13 countries - the UAE is seen as a key market and with sites across the Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Ajman, Sharjah and Al Ain, including our famous Jazz@PizzaExpress in JLT and Abu Dhabi. Une histoire longue de presque 120 ans. L’histoire de la Maison Angelina date du début du XXème siècle. À cette époque, le confiseur autrichien Anton Rumpelmayer arrive dans le Sud de la France où il ouvre plusieurs boutiques « Rumpelmayer » et acquiert une grande notoriété. Poussé par le succès, Rumpelmayer se lance à la conquête de la capitale française, sous les arcades de la rue de Rivoli à Paris. Nous sommes dans les années 1900 et Paris vibre d’une incroyable effervescence artistique et intellectuelle. Ecrivains, peintres, politiques se retrouvent pour débattre dans les cafés. En 1903, Rumpelmayer fonde avec son fils René, au 226 de la rue de Rivoli, un salon de thé « Angelina » en l’honneur de sa belle-fille se prénommant ainsi. Son décor, conçu par le célèbre architecte de la Belle Epoque Edouard-Jean Niermans, mêle élégance, charme et raffinement. Al Bait Al Shami Restaurant
Syrian cuisine includes dishes like kibbeh, kebab halabi, waraq `inab, hummus, tabbouleh, fattoush, labneh, shawarma, mujaddara, shanklish, bastirma, sujuk and baklava. Syrians often serve selections of appetizers, known as "meze", before the main course, and za`atar, minced beef, and cheese manaqish as hors d'oeuvres. Arabic flat bread is always eaten together with meze. Syrians also make cookies called "ka`ak", to usually accompany their cheese. These are made of farina and other ingredients, rolled out, shaped into rings and baked. Another form of a similar cookie is to fill with crushed dates mixed with butter to eat with their jibbneh mashallale[clarification needed], a string cheese made of curd cheese pulled and twisted together. A spice mixture called "baharat mushakalah" is endemic to Syrian cuisine.
