Welcome to Bellamys, the historic catering provider for the New Zealand Parliament. Our story began in 1773 at Westminster, the UK House of Parliament when John Bellamy, the Deputy Housekeeper at Westminster, attempted to provide catering arrangements for Members of Parliament, creating "Bellamy's" in Britain. When New Zealand's first Members of Parliament were elected, they too needed a place to eat and drink, just like the 'Bellamy's' in Britain. Thus, the name 'Bellamys' stuck. Although the name no longer exists in the UK, it still survives in the New Zealand Parliament, where we have been providing food and refreshments since 1854. Today Bellamys continue to provide premium New Zealand cuisine, with the restaurant open to everyone. We are proud to have retained our Cuisine Good Food Hat for 2023/2024

We recommend that you order your tomahawk medium rare but this cut offers something for all tastes - some parts closest to the bone will actually be well-done – tempting you to pick up the bone and feast on those crunchy bits! You can expect a little extra fat and marbling on your tomahawk. That’s what makes it taste so good.
