Bush Ways is a mobile safari and lodge operator founded in 1996. Born from an intense love for the African bush we aim to provide traveling experiences based on personalised attention, and to offer great value for money safaris, genuine cultural encounters and authentic bush experiences to our guests. Starting as a 1-man/1-vehicle/1-itinerary operation, we have since then expanded to a company offering 3 different styles of mobile safaris with 9 different routes and a fleet of 12 safari vehicles, owning 2 boutique lodges and managing a guest house set amongst Botswana’s most exciting wilderness destinations, and involved in a number of non-profit community projects in Botswana. Bush Ways Lodges First starting as a mobile safari operator, Bush Ways expanded their activities in 2010 with the opening of Sango Safari Camp, proceeding with Chobe Elephant Camp in 2013 before taking over the management of Khwai Guest House in 2015, aiming to provide a lodge experience going back to the roots of the safari tradition and focused on discovering the highlights of Botswana through its people. Sango Safari Camp is nestled in the shade of the trees overlooking the Khwai River. Situated on the outskirts of the traditional village of Khwai and bordering Moremi Game Reserve, the camp offers guests the perfect base from which to explore the wildlife and culture of this unique habitat. Located high on the edge of a rocky ridge overlooking the famous Chobe River is the uniquely designed Chobe Elephant Camp. This eco-friendly lodge has been built to take advantage of the incredible views overlooking the sweeping floodplains while offering a comfortable refuge from the harsh African conditions. Latest addition to the Bush Ways portfolio, Khwai Guest House is an exquisite budget accommodation on the edge of the Khwai village a few minutes outside Moremi Game Reserve, offering amazingly affordable safari lodging amongst one of the main highlights of Botswana’s wilderness.

However you do not need a group to have an affordable safari and even 2 guests can enjoy an exclusively guided private safari at a rate cheaper than going to a busy lodge in the peak season. As our safaris are tailor made, it is possible to create an itinerary incorporating individual tastes and preferences. We have opted to remain affordable, offering comfortable safaris that allow those who are genuinely interested in wildlife and preserving the ecology of this unique part of the world. Our safaris are low impact on the environment. You travel with a guide and camp assistant who take care of all camp chores, guests get to focus on game viewing and being immersed in nature far from life’s normal hectic pace. The guide travels with a trailer which carries all the equipment. Accommodation is in dome tents with bedrolls (and optional stretchers). Meals are hearty yet modern, with fresh salads and a great variety of meals including meat and vegetables served daily. At our normal rates we include a selection of drinks ‐ local brand beers, South African wine, bottled water and soft drinks.
