About Alison Ure

It’s always about the people. If you’ve ever worked with me, you’ll know that people are at the heart of everything I do. Whether it’s collaborating within a team, supporting schools and community organisations, cultivating inclusive workplaces, or guiding individuals through career transitions, my focus is always on creating positive, meaningful impact. My career journey has been far from conventional. After graduating with a degree in French, I spent five years in Luxembourg, which unexpectedly led me into the world of finance. Returning to the UK, I thought I’d leave finance behind, but instead, I found myself carving out a unique path within it. At Hermes Investment Management, I seized the opportunity to build something impactful – a Corporate Citizenship programme that created volunteering opportunities, strengthened community relationships, promoted a truly inclusive working environment, and aligned business with purpose. What began as a passion project evolved into a full-time role and remains one of my proudest achievements. In 2020, I returned to my Lancashire roots and briefly ventured into the aerospace sector before joining Working Transitions in 2022. Here, I came full circle – helping people is once again at the core of what I do. Whether I’m providing CV support, coaching individuals through interview prep, delivering virtual workshops, or facilitating meaningful conversations about career aspirations, I aim to make a real difference during pivotal moments in people’s lives. It’s been a winding road, but every step has reinforced my belief that making a positive impact – on organisations, communities, and individuals – is what truly drives me.
