About Bobby Cunningham

I have been in ministry for over 12 years, 6 as a Lead Pastor, 1 year as a Campus Pastor, and 5 as an Associate/Young Adult Pastor. The longer I am in ministry the more humbled I am at the prospect of serving God. I want to start by first saying thank you for taking the time to consider me as a candidate for Lead/Sr. Pastor. I know this is a sacred call and a difficult decision. To let you know a bit about myself, I am an intuitive and extremely creative person. I thrive on thinking outside the box, and I believe one of my strongest gifts as a pastor is my ability to do that. There are many tried and true methods for accomplishing both discipleship and evangelism, and I affirm that they have a place. But, the more I look around our culture the more I see a need to do whatever it takes to reach lost people. Both my wife and I were Assemblies of God missionary kids who grew up in Bucharest, Romania. Being raised in ministry families has given us a burden to reach the lost that comes from deep within. We have seen God use radically different methodologies to reach vastly different people, in multiple countries and contexts; but we believe the church is not just the hope of the world, it is the hope of America. The Church is the hope for today, in this culture and in this context. Our philosophy of ministry is that people everywhere have great need and the church must rise up to help meet people and their needs. Our job is to show them tangible love, while simultaneously offering a hope in Christ, which they may not initially comprehend. My wife has a master’s degree in social work and provides therapy to people who experience trauma. She has taught me the value of listening to others while you lead them. Leading others, and bringing change whether in the church, or in the culture, is best accomplished by loving people, while helping them grow to become passionate followers of Christ.
