Background
About Cassidy Houston
I began my first two years teaching at New Vistas School, a school for students with varying learning differences, and I have taught the past 3 years at Richmond Montessori School. I earned a bachelors degree in Mathematics from University of Mary Washington in 2014. I earned my Virginia Secondary Mathematics certification at UVA Wise in 2017, and my Montessori Secondary I/II credential at Houston Montessori Center in 2019. More importantly, I am a passionate teacher who strives to provide purpose with content, agency with learning, and essential skills with education. I drifted through school with little purpose, until I found education. I vowed to prioritize collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity over content. I am seeking like minded educators who want to help develop an education, more specifically a mathematics curriculum, that prepares students for the 21st century.
