About Chris Barrett

My career started at a branch of Activision in Eden Prairie, MN as a Contract QA Tester. From there I moved to Austin, TX and continued down the QA career path. After a few years I worked my way into leadership positions where I feel I really excelled. I have built teams for various projects and I have a great track record of hiring good people that fit in well with the team and the studio culture. I always make it a point to play to the strengths and weaknesses of individual team members to spread responsibilities around appropriately. I am a big believer in building a strong and diverse team to achieve the best results. I am also a firm believer in allowing team members to take on responsibilities to help build their skill sets. I want people on my team to learn and grow. I thoroughly enjoy mentoring and training people and It is important to me that they understand the process and why the team works as it does. In early 2022 I transitioned out of the QA realm and into Production. I am currently working on building project management skills, while strengthening many of the skills I already have. Skills: Jira, Hansoft, Perforce, Word, Excel, Power Point, Paint, Outlook, Windows Movie Maker, Xbox Consoles, and Sony Consoles. I am an excellent trainer and mentor, as well as a solid writer and editor. I am also familiar with technical requirements and submissions to Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Personal: Outgoing, creative, strong desire to create quality products, works well with a team or individually, good leader.
