I prepare bespoke ONBOARDING and INDUCTION plans for SME businesses. According to research undertaken by the CIPD nearly 20% of new hires quit during their first 12 months with half of these leaving during the first six months. There are many reasons for this, prominent amongst these being that new employees do not feel engaged with their new employer. I have worked in HR for over 45 years,(I can even remember when it was called Personnel!).
