About Hendrik Davis

I have over 10 years of experience in the Renewable Energy sector, specialising in Rooftop Photovoltaic Low-Voltage Grid-Tied systems. I am also proficient with Battery Energy Storage Systems and Medium Voltage applications. I have successfully designed and commissioned more than 43MWp Grid-Tied Photovoltaic systems and more than Battery Energy Storage Systems nationally in South Africa.I acquired my Professional Engineer Certification from the Engineering Council of South Africa in the fourth quarter of 2019.After acquiring my Professional Engineer Certification, I gained exposure to signing off on my own designs and taking responsibility for the finalisation of my own projects during the continuation of my Project Engineering years.I was appointed Senior Engineer in the first quarter of 2022. My responsibilities as a Senior Engineer include training the next generation of renewable (photovoltaic) engineers. Further on my responsibilities, I mentor the Project Engineers while reviewing and signing off on their renewable projects (design documents and drawings, commissioning reports, and the project's final operational documents), ultimately taking responsibility for their completed designs. I am also responsible for continuously defining and updating the engineering standards for Solareff.
