About Jose Acevedo

I am Jose Acevedo, a retired US Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel and International Cooperation Officer with over two decades of enriched experience in military affairs, international political-military developments, and security cooperation. My journey has been marked by strategic planning, defense consulting, and a comprehensive understanding of military applications acquired from operations in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. At the heart of my career has been managing strategic leaders, safeguarding assets, and ensuring optimal budget allocation. My most recent role as the Director of Operations and Manpower at II Marine Expeditionary Force honed my skills in workforce planning, enhancing operational readiness, and effective manpower reporting. Stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Amman, Jordan, as an International Program Manager, I spearheaded a Title X U.S.C. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program and was pivotal in counter-narcotics and border security operations. In Italy, I was instrumental in strategic planning and operations for the U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, ensuring task force success and operational efficacy. In Mexico City, as a Marine Attaché & Political Military Advisor, my focus was on influencing U.S-Mexico relations and executing U.S. foreign policy initiatives. My roles have always demanded a synergy of strategic planning, operational efficiency, and robust international relations. My educational journey is crowned with a Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies & Spanish from Vanderbilt University. Currently, I’m pursuing a Master of Arts in Global Affairs from the University of Oklahoma, broadening my horizons in international relations and global security dynamics. As I transition, I carry forward a legacy of strategic leadership, international cooperation, and a profound commitment to security and defense. Each role, and each mission has been a step towards fostering a safer, collaborative, and strategically sound global environment.
