About Mark Collins

I Started work for Engineering Surveying Services ESS in 1995, as a trainee Land Surveyor & Setting Out Engineer. The work was varied such as working on the Toyota extension as assistant site engineer. Setting out for piling companies Keller, Arslef and Stent. Also carried out earth work volumetric analysis for DNS of Derby. My work involved working with Leica Geo Systems and total stations. Carrying out topographical surveys and site setting out. I also carried out surveys fro volumetric analysis for earth works. I Joined Nottingham City Council in October 2001 as Assistant Land Surveyor and achieved my HNC in Civil Engineering. I carried out topographical surveys, site setting out and internal building surveys. After eight years i advanced to Highway Design in 2009. I worked with AutoCAD for designing highway improvement schemes and continued the setting out & surveying capability of the section. I then moved into Network Management as a Street Works Officer to advance knowledge and experience. I am now the Principal Officer in Network Management and carry out work for Section 278 and 38 applications and technical assessment and approval. I have attained Nottingham City Councils in house Management training and support Traffic Officers carrying out street works and colleagues working on developments within the city.
