About Michelle Curtin

With five years of teaching elementary art under my belt, I decided to expand my horizons and head in a new direction using my interpersonal skills and various experiences gained through my professional career. Throughout the pandemic, I held a position at a boutique real estate company where I worked to broaden my skillset in the business realm and explore opportunities within operations and customer service. I am now thrilled to be working as the Studio Facilitator at Project Onward, the nonprofit organization I have been volunteering with for the past four years. This position is a perfect combination of my niche skillsets; those being fine art and working with a neurodiverse population. I couldn't be happier to finally work for an organization that has a positive global impact, and I am excited about the opportunity to help grow the program. In addition to my passion for art and helping others, I am extremely passionate about environmental sustainability, and I try to live my life with as small a footprint as possible. To help spread awareness and educate others about our impact on the planet, I started Baby Grandma Vintage, selling vintage and repurposed items which I do via e-commerce sites and in-person at various markets and shops throughout Chicagoland. Baby Grandma Vintage has given me the opportunity to pull all of my strengths and passions together to create a business that is completely my own.
