Up - Urban Practice

Urban Practice (UP) is a Macau-based practice that operates in the contemporary city within the fields of architecture, urban planning and design. It was founded by Nuno Soares in 2014 after more than ten years of professional experience as an architect in Macau. The projects developed at Urban Practice encompass different scales and themes, from buildings of various sizes and nature to public space, urban plans, heritage renovation, cultural facilities, commercial venues, housing, installations and exhibitions, furniture and product design. Immersed in the urban context, Urban Practice has the city as its inspiration, embracing its problems and conditions as opportunities to discover innovative solutions that can shape the future urban environment. The practice thrives in a collaborative atmosphere that promotes a constant creative interaction between the team, the clients, and the associate companies, individuals and institutions. The results are concept-oriented projects devised as a contribution to the construction of the contemporary city.
