Military Officers Association Of America Moaa Southern Nevada Chapter
The Southern Nevada Chapter of MOAA was established in August of 1965 as The Southern Nevada Retired Officer’s Club, an affiliate of The Retired Officer’s Association (TROA). The association began with 70 Charter members. The first President of the organization was Clinton S. Maupin, Colonel, US Army. The chapter has been active for 54 years. We have over 220 members. Fifty-eight are auxiliary members whose chapter dues are free in recognition of many years of dedicated service as spouses of deceased military members. The average age of our members is over 60 years. One of our goals is to recruit younger members. From the year 2004 through 2018, the Chapter has received 14 MOAA Levels of Excellence Awards - One 4-Star Award and thirteen 5-Star Awards. Under IRS Provision 501-C-19, our chapter is a nonprofit and non-partisan association that is a lobby for the benefit of all uniformed services. The goals of the Southern Nevada Chapter are to promote the purpose and objectives of MOAA National, which is to pursue and further legislation, military benefits, education and scholarships and other objectives of the uniformed services, the nation and the Southern Nevada Military community.

The new organization has been incorporated in Virginia as a non-profit entity as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt. NMFAO’s mission is to serve Military families and to provide a platform for both military spouses and children to voice their concerns and trials, always keeping in mind that the Military children of today will proudly become the Military servicemembers of tomorrow! NMFAO has prayerfully created this new platform and will soon be operational, providing valuable and much needed additional resources and information to better serve the #Military families. Orange County Veterans And Military Families Collaborative
The Orange County Veterans and Military Families Collaborative (OCVMFC), a coalition of service organizations, facilitates access to comprehensive services for veterans, service members and their families. Established in 2013, the OCVMFC currently consists of over 100 member service organizations that serve the needs of over Orange County Veterans and their families. In 2018, the OCVMFC was recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs as the Community Veteran Engagement Board for Orange County. In 2019 the University of California, Irvine, became OCVMFC's Convener, providing leadership and support to the collaborative's mission.
