Facepunch Studios
We’re Facepunch, an independent game developer in Birmingham, UK. We made Garry’s Mod and Rust, two of the most popular Steam games of all time. It was Garry’s Mod that kicked it all off when it released in December 2004 as one of the first indie games on Steam and led to the creation of Facepunch. We try to be player-first and learn from what they tell us. We don’t have conventional management and try to avoid BS - the team decides together what’s best for the game. We expect to fail, learn and get better. We build our games and community relations for the long-term. We think we have a pretty open, welcoming work environment. We’re about 50 people and growing - we have a lot more we want to do. We’re PC-first but interested in other platforms and VR. About our games: Garry’s Mod, one of the first major modding and UGC game platforms, is now over 15 years old, with >20 million units sold and still going strong with an ‘overwhelmingly positive’ Steam review (from >700k reviews). Rust is a multiplayer survival shooter, one of the most popular indie games on Steam ever by player count over the last few years (regularly in the top 10 most played of all games too),~9 years old and has had >300 content updates now with something new every month. It has a ‘very positive’ Steam review rating (from >600k reviews). It also became one of the most streamed games of all time in Twitch, in its 8th year. We have a close partnership with our vibrant community of content creators, skin designers, mod makers, server operators and more. We’re also working on S & box, our next-generation game creation and modding platform (and spiritual successor to Garry’s Mod). We're hiring! We’re looking for people who are proactive, independent, like working in small teams across different disciplines and who want to have a direct impact on the games they work on. We can offer any resources needed to help make the best games we can. If that sounds interesting, get in touch.

Our zero-crunch policy and commitment to staff well-being is testament to our belief that happy, healthy teams make great games – backed up by our award-winning catalogue. FuturLab was originally founded in 2003, but things really took off for us in 2007 when we decided to take a risk: we rocked up to Sony HQ and delivered the pitch that would put us on the map as game developers. Back then, we didn’t have the commercial video game experience that we do now, but what we did have was unbridled enthusiasm, distinctive ideas, and fearless audacity. To this day, we carry these essential ingredients through to every project we work on. Although our head office in Brighton remains open, FuturLab is a remote first studio, allowing us to work with talent across the UK and beyond to deliver the best games possible, whilst empowering our team to work comfortably and flexibly in their own spaces. Our studio is a place where everyone belongs, a space for us to cultivate great ideas and flourish together, with our differences as our strength. As a Ukie #RaiseTheGame pledge partner, we are committed to championing diversity and inclusion across all areas as we continue to expand.

Glowmade
Glowmade is a vibrant team with big hearts and bigger ideas. Our three founders worked together at Lionhead, made some lovely stuff, got on well, shared stories, shared dreams - well, you know the kind of thing. The critical catalyst was the combination of their core skills - code, design and art. The essence of game creation. So, a foundation was laid. From this foundation, we steadily grew. Now, as an established studio based in Guildford, UK, we have an experienced team, all of whom have previously worked on some great games and for some fantastic companies, but we want to achieve more. Any company’s culture will develop over time, but from the very start, we have wanted to have a defined vision with creative guidelines: Glowmade is about inclusivity, player creativity, exploration, community and surprise.
