Artificial Museum
Artificial Museum Augmenting the world with new ideas for change and shaping the cultural heritage of the future. Our mission is to create, procure, research, disseminate and preserve art in public space. We challenge the status quo and redefine the concept of ‘museum’ by rethinking the question: What is art and who perceives it? With the Artificial Museum we promote the reoccupation of public space through a decentralized platform based on augmented reality that makes gps-anchored artifacts of digital art accessible to everyone. Both at home and abroad – even on the moon. The architecture of the Artificial Museum is continuously expanded and perpetuated through public participation. As it is an accessible platform for both design and participation, it has been able to implement numerous projects in the past 3 years, from exhibitions all over the world to workshops on AR in universities and the rethinking of museums and monuments. The constant further development is not only reflected in various successful research projects, but also in developments such as the ARM Editor, which will be released at the end of 2024. We are looking forward to connect with artists, museums and companies interested in collaborating with us.

Museum In Progress
museum in progress is concerned with the changing ways in which art is brought before the public and develops innovative models for co-operation between business, art and media. The art initiative, founded in 1990 by Prof. Kathrin Messner and Josef Ortner († 2009), organises exhibitions in media such as newspapers, magazines, billboards, the facades of buildings, TV, the internet, concert halls or even on board of aeroplanes, and thereby integrates art into everyday life. Based on Joseph Beuys’ “extended definition of art”, this private art association extends the definition of a museum and through its activities transforms the public and media spaces into a “museum” for its art projects. The museum of the 21st century exists as a flexible structure and establishes the form in which it appears directly in media space.
