Radiumhemmets Forskningsfonder

Radiumhemmets Forskningsfonder är Sveriges äldsta cancerfonder och har sedan 1910 verkat för att fler ska överleva cancer. Vi beviljar årligen stora belopp till ett brett urval av cancerforskningsprojekt med klinisk patientnära inriktning. Målet är tidigare upptäckt av cancer och bättre behandlingsmetoder, som botar cancer eller förbättrar livskvaliteten för de som måste leva med cancer. Den cancerforskning som vi stödjer drivs framåt av målmedvetna och nyfikna forskare. Gemensamt för dem alla är att forskningen sker i nära anslutning till sjukvården och att de vill nå forskningsresultat som inom en nära framtid kommer cancerpatienter till nytta. Just nu har vi 188 forskare knutna till oss och ett medeltal på 40 anställda i olika forskningsprojekt. Vi främjar även den kliniska patientnära cancerforskningen genom stöd till tjänster och forskningstid, bland annat inrättar vi för närvarande sex nya professurer tillsammans med Karolinska Institutet.

Smart Exploration Research Center

The Smart Exploration Research Center, based at Uppsala University and supported by three other universities (Gothenburg University, Lund University and Stockholm University), three mining companies (Nordic Iron, First Quantum Minerals and Eurobattery Minerals AB) four technology and solution providers (Amkvo AB, BitSimNow AB, Epiroc AB and Tyréns AB), and one municipality-related entity (AB Samarkand2015) adresses knowledge gaps by developing new science and technologies for innovative exploration of CRMs. It serves Sweden with new exploration solutions to become a global centre; providing high-quality science and research, attracting mining companies, and young professionals.

Stamina-Modellen

HRI är en förkortning av Human Resources Index och kan sägas vara ett mått som sammanfattar gruppers arbetslust, hälsa och prestationsförmåga. HRI har tillkommit för att möta ett behov av att på ett enhetligt sätt mäta och beskriva hur det står till med organisationers och företags största tillgång – den mänskliga arbetskraften. Det är förmodligen ingen slump att HRI är en svensk innovation. HRI har vuxit fram genom den svenska arbetslivsmodellen med sin tradition av pragmatisk samverkan mellan arbetsmarknadens parter som ett resultat av sammanfallande intressen. Medarbetare som mår bra presterar bättre! Projektnamnet STAMINA står för ”uthållighet” och kan också utläsas som ett Strukturerat Tidseffektivt Arbetssätt och Metoder för ett INkluderande Arbetsliv. STAMINA-modellen är ett pågående forskningsprojekt på Uppsala Universitet och HRI-Institute är leverantörer av den metodik som används i FoU-projektet STAMINA. Namnet skapades av professor Magnus Svartengren, Uppsala universitet i en ansökan om forskningsmedel från AFA. Som forskare är han synnerligen välrenommerad inom området och är även knuten till Arbetsmiljöverket som medicinsk expert.

The Svedberg Laboratory, Uppsala University

The Svedberg Laboratory (TSL) provides particle beams for therapy, radiation testing, and basic research. The following particle beams are available- protons with energy selectable in 20-180 MeV range- atmospheric-like / white / spallation / cosmic-ray neutrons- quasi-monoenergetic neutrons (QMN) with peak energy selectable in 20-175 MeV range- heavy ions, from deuterium to argon. Eiscat

EISCAT, the European Incoherent Scatter Scientific Association, was founded in 1976 with the purpose to conduct research on the lower, middle and upper atmosphere and ionosphere using the incoherent scatter radar technique. EISCAT conducts ionospheric and atmospheric measurements with radars. This technique is the most powerful ground-based tool for these research applications. As an example EISCATs radars can observe effects resulting from aurora borealis. From 1 January 2025, EISCAT is a state owned company, EISCAT AB, registered in Sweden. All assets, liabilities, good wills, etc. were transferred from EISCAT Scientific Association at that time. It is Finland, Norway and Sweden jointly owning the company. The purpose of the company continues to be the same as before: providing research infrastructure to its users. EISCAT is also being used as a coherent scatter radar for studying instabilities in the ionosphere, as well as for investigating the structure and dynamics of the middle atmosphere and as a diagnostic instrument in ionospheric modification experiments with the Heating facility, a combined ionospheric heating and short-wave radar facility. EISCAT operates in: Finland, Norway, including Svalbard, and Sweden, and all facilities are located north of the Arctic Circle. EISCAT is almost done in building a new system, EISCAT_3D, which will replace the current mainland radar systems. EISCAT_3D is a modern, multi-static, phased array radar system. The construction started in 2017 and the new system will be ready for use late 2025.

What we do: Histo.One offers a service of pathology, image analysis and bioinformatics support for the Academia, Pharma and Biotech industry. Who we are: HistoOne was founded by a small team of pathologists and biomedical researchers in Uppsala, Sweden, in 2020. During the years of our work in clinical and biomedical research we have realized a lack of pathology expertise in many experimental and translational studies. While imaging techniques developed dramatically during the last decades, there are seldom attempts to increase histology interpretation quality in the first place. We assembled a team of pathologists with a specific aim to support the research community and companies with professional assistance. Our pathologists are board-certified in clinical pathology and trained in their respective subspecialties: dermatopathology, lung pathology, kidney pathology and gastrointestinal pathology as well as autopsy pathology. We have a broad experience in in situ analysis techniques, including immunohistochemistry, multiplex immunofluorescence and different hybridization techniques.
