Feed The City
Feed The City is a volunteer-powered registered charity helping bridge the gap for neighbours who can’t reach the food bank due to mobility challenges, health issues, disability, transportation barriers, or any circumstance that makes accessing a food bank difficult. We believe that every person deserves food access with equity, connection, and care. When someone can’t pick up their boxes of food, our volunteer drivers deliver it directly to their door with dignity and reliability. Every month, our dedicated volunteer drivers deliver more than 500 food boxes to over 200 households across Ottawa. We work closely with community food banks and partner organizations to extend their reach and ensure no neighbour is left behind due to barriers beyond their control. Our work is simple and community-rooted: neighbours helping neighbours, one delivery at a time. What We Do • Deliver food directly to individuals and families who cannot physically access the food bank on their own • Support residents facing mobility limitations, disabilities, health issues, lack of transportation, or other barriers to accessing emergency food • Strengthen community food systems through partnerships with food banks, local organizations, and service providers • Build an empowered volunteer community grounded in kindness, consistency and shared purpose • Reduce isolation by offering friendly interaction, human connection, and a dependable presence at each doorstep Our Mission To provide equitable and accessible emergency food support by delivering to neighbours facing barriers to access. As more Latin American families arrive in New Brunswick, Hola expands its volunteer network and keeps its community united through ongoing communication and opportunities to engage with the local community and other Latin American immigrants.

La Ruche Vanier
La Ruche Vanier est un organisme communautaire autonome fondé en 1978 à l’initiative des citoyens et citoyennes de Vanier. Lors de la fondation de l’organisme, Vanier était une petite municipalité économiquement défavorisée et dépourvue de toute infrastructure d’aide communautaire. C’est donc par des actions de développement social et communautaire que La Ruche Vanier est intervenue durant les 20 premières années de son histoire. L’organisme sera au cœur de la fondation de plusieurs OBNL toujours très actifs: Alphabeille Vanier, La Butineuse Vanier, Ressources Parents Vanier, la Maison des jeunes La Parenthèse, les Jardins communautaires et collectifs La Rosée, la Société culturelle de Vanier ainsi que des services de garde qui deviendront les CPE l’Essentiel et Allo Mon ami et l’entreprise d’économie sociale Recyclage Vanier. A partir de la fin des années 1990, l’organisme met en place des services d’aide aux personnes et aux familles, comme l’épicerie communautaire et la clinique d’impôts. La Ruche Vanier a aussi occupé l’espace public pour prendre la parole sur les enjeux sociaux et économiques les plus importants pour Vanier, en mobilisant des citoyens.nes dans des actions collectives de défense des droits des locataires et des assistés sociaux, en interpellant les pouvoirs publics et en soutenant la création et la publication d’un journal local fort apprécié : Le Vaniérois (1983-1991). En 2017, La Ruche Vanier intègre à ses opérations la Table de quartier Vanier, une concertation locale de lutte contre la pauvreté et l’exclusion sociale. Cette fusion a pour effet premier de relancer toute l’action de développement social et communautaire. En 2018-2019, un soutien financier majeur de la Fondation Lucie et André Chagnon viendra nous donner les moyens de nos ambitions.
